Hostas on the Bluff is a specialist hosta nursery and hillside display garden a short drive from St. Louis, open as a seasonal retail nursery from May through September. It is family run, beginning with a handful of plants shared across generations, and today grows 500+ unique hosta varieties on-site, with more than 200 available to buy online. Hostas are the main focus, with a deep and specialized selection. It includes more than two dozen past "Hosta of the Year" winners, along with slug-resistant and sun-tolerant varieties, fragrant types, and patented selections. Leaf colors range from blue and gold to green and variegated. A smaller bench of sun perennials adds phlox, daylilies, and sedum. The property has two greenhouses and a hillside display garden with thousands of potted plants for sale, plus a back deck that looks out toward St. Louis.
